I was born in Everett, Washington, and like to say I grew up in Washington, Oregon, and Montana, because my dad was with the railroad, and frequently transfered.
I moved from Billings, Montana to the high desert of southern California in the late 70's and operated a book shop for 18 years, with my late husband who's struggle with Alzheimer's Disease is the primary subject of my book.
I have remarried, and now reside in eastern Oregon with my husband, Al Pierce, and our two goat-kids, Cissy (pronounced "sissy") and Pancho. I operate an online mostly-used bookstore: http://www.alconbooks.com/ which is very fun to browse.
With Al's much appreciated patience, support, and encouragement, I was able to complete my first book, Letting go of the Rice.
